For lab meeting next week we’ll be talking about our efforts to characterize displays in wild populations of Anolis distichus. I’ll focus on the results of field work and subsequent video analyses conducted with recent graduates Ryane Logsdon and Audrey Kelly. The image above shows you some of the stereotypical displays we’ve discovered thusfar. I’ll […]
To mark the start of Fall, I’ve brought a pumpkin, apple and pecan bundt cake that’s topped with a maple glaze to share at lab meeting today.
This week’s lab meeting will be on the evolution of reproductive isolation. As most of you know, we are halfway through our own two-generation hybridization experiment to assess reproductive isolation between two distichoid species. Studies of reproductive isolation in insects, birds and mammals have revealed four general patters to the evolution of reproductive isolation: 1. […]

Thanks to everyone who helped with the lizard room cleaning operation yesterday! Now its time to come up with a permanent meeting time and plan of action for the coming semester. I’ve generated a new Doodle calendar and would like everyone to fill it in with times you will be available throughout the semester.

Because some folks may not yet have their course schedules fully established until after this week, my suggestion is that we set up a temporary time for this week. Let me know when you’re available in the late afternoon/early evening this week […]
